Nikon V1

Brought this new compact camera from Nikon for my wife {} and myself {} for Christmas to replace the older p/s we have and balance the big DSLR. It's a interchangeable lens camera and I got the twin lens kit that features a 10-30mm and 30-110mm lenses plus I brought separately the dedicated speedlight. The camera boosts some cool innovations and features, this link provides a good overview. Over the last few days been using it I really like it feels good, light and the AF/shutter speed is incredibly fast in bright/average conditions. Got some sample pics on my Smugmug page . Hopefully Nikon will release some faster lenses for the new CX mount system they use on the V1, plus a f-mount adapter will be available as well for AF-s nikkors

HI Stuart

Don’t be so shy, I’m sure you’ve earned the ahem, present “for your wife”!

The photos look sharp, clean and well exposed so the camera certainly looks a winner. I’m sure your neck, shoulders and back will thank you for the lesser weight!

A person can never have too many cameras for the plethora of situations, environments and conditions they may find themselves in!

Cheers

Dennis

Looks like a nice little camera! I reckon everybody needs at least two or three cameras

Cheers Rick/Dennis......yep walking around with a heavy DSLR is tiresome and I usually feel uncomfortably conspicuous in crowded public areas so the little V1 for those occasions will be nice to use. Be interesting to see how the camera sells for Nikon, it possesses some strong attributes but has been criticized for the sensor size and price.....time will tell .
