Lunar Eclipse from Mudgee NSW

Well, the wall to wall cloud parted from time to time, I wasn't expecting it to at all, so wasn't setup.
Grabbed the scope and the DSLR, didn't have any visible stars to do an alignment, and the camera battery went flat moments before totality!

But anyway, here are a few pictures from the moments I got.
Just cropped, shot through the Lomo 105/650 with a Nikon D90.

I wish I had gotten the QHY8 hooked up in time, but it was great to see it, and share it with my kids.
Thanks everyone for sharing the experience, now I'd better pack up and get to bed... the youngest usually wakes at 6am. Eeek!

Thanks everyone, it has been a rough week, so it is lovely to get such a positive vibe.
All those images were through a thin veil of cloud and I had no focusing aid so I was pleased they were reasonably sharp. I had to manually fire the Nikon shutter too, so it was less than ideal. These are the first images I have taken through the lomo scope, it was a hurried scramble, but it was great to have a go. I was convinced we would miss it here. I'll have to go through all the images and see if any are worth more processing. It is wonderful how many people shared their personal view of the night.
