Atlas of Galactic Nebulae

I just received a DVD copy of the Atlas of Galactic Nebulae.
This atlas originally came out as 3 books in 1985, 1987 and 1990. The total cost was about $260.
The DVD cost me $28 including postage so it is a bargain.

It is available from http://stellarum.de/ENGLISH/index.htm

The Atlas of Galactic Nebulae contains the complete three-part atlas compiled by Dr. Hans Vehrenberg and Thorsten Neckel:
180 pages of text 462 photographical charts with 1547 objects on 1529 figures
The atlas is a collection of all galactic nebulae visible on the prints of the professional star atlases
"Palomar Observatory Sky Survey“ and "ESO/SERC Southern Sky Survey“ on 1 DVD

Quality is fine. It takes up 1.8 Gb
Atlas part 1 is 450 Mb
Atlas part 2 is 600 Mb
Atlas part 3 is 630 Mb
There is also a booklet with each part.

I am sorry to say that I cannot agree with Glen on the quality. I have had this title for some time and as it is scanned directly from the book pages, the quality, IMHO, is a little lacking This is entirely noticeable when zooming in on the page. It would have been much better to see the scans taking from the original plates. I guess this wasn't possible.

And, the user interface was also lacking. But having said all this, it is definitely worth the price, particularly since the book version is no longer available. I have been searching for the three volume book set for some time now. Sadly, I did have them at one stage, bought them when they came out, but had to sell them due money problems, at the time. Have regretted it ever since.

Anyone out there got the three volume set and what to sell them?
