Observation Report ... Not !!

This was supposed to be an observation report. Drove home in clearing skies, few horizon fluffies. Checked MetService website, big high over Tasman heading this way, we're on the edge of it. Hummed and ha'd till about 7pm while cooking and eating dinner then took the plunge and ripped the covers off the pier and mount, Be brave I thought and carefully carried out the 10" and mounted it up, Dragged out the long AC lead and power supply and powered up the mount, added finder, rdf and DSLR with 300 mm lens. Did alignments so they all looked in the same direction, checked drives and then waited.

The clouds arrived about 8:30pm
It was all packed away in the garage by 9:30 pm.
Was looking to do some wide feild in the LMC/SMC area and then catch Jupiter a bit later. Took a few moon shots through patches in the clouds but wasn't set up right for that. Overexposed and smeared with clouds.

And I haven't even bought anything lately .....

Somebody has a reasonably priced Orion AutoGuider for sale over here, are they any good ? Easy to setup and use ? Fool proof ? Guiding for Dummies maybe ...?

Brent, nicely told (but sad) story.
