I took this a while ago but had trouble processing it.

I took another approach and it worked fine.

HaLRGB 120 30 50 40 60 minutes for 5 hours total.

Taken at my home observatory with CDK17, PL16803 and PME.

Definitely pay that one Greg! Good stuff! It's definitely a tricky one to process!

Cheers, Marcus

Thanks Marcus. Getting the imaging bug yet? Or you still in cold turkey?

Thanks Leo. You probably don't get to see this one from Rome unfortunately.

Thanks Rick. It did pick up a lot of detail. I've imaged this one before and it was hard to pick up those loops even at my dark site but the aperture paid dividends on this one.

Greg.

This worked well Greg.
I love this object (haven't taken it with the recent setup yet)

A hard one to try and combine Ha to the BB colours for sure...
Good stuff.

All the best
Rich

Thanks Rich. I've shot this one a few times with various scopes and this one turned out better than the other versions.
The aperture brought out the loops very easily where it was a heavy stretch to catch them before.

Greg.

A great effort Greg.

I know this nebula well, having poured many hours of imaging into it a while back.... but think you may have subdued the H-beta lines of the loops a little too much in post processing...though cheerfully admit the H-beta is subtle (but real none-the less) and as a result, is hard to nail.

Nice one just the same.

Yes I think you are right. I'll have another look at that. I've since done a bit of tweaking as suggested and posted it - same link - thanks for the advice. Cheers.

Thanks Alan. Its the best one of this area I have done so far. Its a bit of a hard one. Also because the background is all sorts of unusual colours.

Greg.
