I setup at sunset, and as soon as it got dark enough I started imaging.
It was fairly unsteady (6.5/10) but improved as the night went on, and probably peaked at about (7.5/10) before starting to drop again.
The first shot is probably the pick of the night (1500/10400 frames @60fps), and the second is me playing around with colour CODEC's and as a result captured at 30fps, 1500/5380 frames, I think a little oversaturated, but print's nicely
Still waiting for the great seeing
Very nice shots. Lots of detail in both, but I especially like the sharpness of the second one (a combination of the smaller image scale and the higher colour density).
The 14th was obviously a fruitful evening for the South Australians!
Nice work, both are good. The first one can clean up a bit nicer with a bit of colour balance adjustment, curves and sharpening (attached).
Hope you don't mind.

Thanks Mike I was trying to colour balance the first one with sunlight coming over my shoulders onto the screen Once it got dark the result didn't look so nice

Thanks Ivan,
I didn't think it was going to be much good, but yes there are a few nice SA results. And I agree that the first one is scaled up a tad too much. I get tempted to overscale a bit, but it's all part of the learning experience
Great images Rob. Can you quickly list the equipment you used for the shots.
Luke
Sorry Luke I'm getting slack in my old age
It is mostly in my signature I.e. 200mm Newtonian (complete with resident spiders ) on an LXD55 Mount (small old Meade GONEAR), DBK21AU618 Camera, GSO 2.5X Barlow + Various Extension Tubes.
Hope this helps
Rob
