Alice and Leon in the Red Center

Hi Guys, While Alice and I travel through Australia, and now the Center, we see and photograph many beautiful sights.
Although not A class photography we would like to share a few pics with you.

No I Uluru, now that is some rock up close, this was taken about 1/2 hour before Sunset.
No 2 Uluru, up close, with some of the different shapes.
No 3 As above, with an interesting light gap when viewed side on.
No 4 A part of Katherine Gorge, we did a boat trip to three other Gorges as well.
No 5 "Teeko" our trusty guard dog, LOL, with his bum on the hot sand.
No 6 A Goanna crossing the road at The Olga's.
No 7 Alice in the shade at the Devils Marbles.
No 8 Old Petrol Station at New Castle Waters

nice one leon mate it is a very impressive rock isnt it!
i dont know about devils marbles though leon it looks a lot like devils doo doo ha ha (we used to call them "mr whippys ha ha)
what are the night skys like in the middle?
i remember back in the 80's myself and a large group of motorcyclists took off from perth on a friday afternoon to go to kalgoorlies "goanna rally" anyhoo we all stopped around halfway for a leg stretch, completely flat from horizon to horizon, and after about fifteen minutes some bright spark said "erm... has anybody looked up?" it is to this day for me the most remarkable sight i have ever seen, moonless and no black bits, it was covered from horizon to horizon with stars.
do you know i am sure that the cumulation of stars cast a faint shadow
i wonder if there are any places left like that?
have a safe trip leon and i love my mount (i can drive it now ha ha)
pat

Thanks H, it is worth a visit mate, you would have ball, and your camera would run hot. LOL.

Pat yea mate, there are still horizons like that out in the never never, most enjoyable to see.
Glad you have the mount sorted, you should get a lot of enjoyment out of it, will send some more pics as we move along.

Leon

Kev we are actually heading South now so that we can spend Christmas with the kids and grand kids, then we plan to move in a different direction early in the new year.

Tomorrow however we are going to the Kings Canyon area and spend some time there, then South again along the Stuart H/Way toward Coober Pedy, and so on slowly to Ballarat.

Your dead right Mick, it is a hell of a big rock up close
