Sunday morning the 5th was the best of the 2 nights at Snake Valley, there were moments of very good seeing up to maybe 8.5/10. Unfortunately there was also a lot of fog and haze, and when any of this came across the seeing dropped away.
I recorded about a dozen runs on Jupiter, most of them were degraded to some extent by the fog but there are a couple of runs that stayed clear for the whole time - here's one of them.
I remember looking at that very view through my scope. Nice little red spot! But on my LCD screen the image looks somewhat overexposed near the centre.
Nice one Bird, up to the very high standard we've come to expect (and hope to approach ). The Not As Great As the Great Red Spot Spot (NAGAGRSS) seems much closer to the GRS than I remember it ... someone said they might merge but this looks like theye're approaching each other very quickly.

The image is a little bit on the blurry side, probably included too many poor frames to try and reduce the noise level, but otherwise it looks ok on my screen(s).

I'm at home now looking at the image on a different LCD screen and it looks perfect!
Very nice Anthony, After the weekend I more fully understand how you capture and assemble such images and the amount of patience it requires! I hope I can help Dave P get his mirror cooling perfected and capture some great images at our next local meet. Regards IanG
Great shot Bird, awesome detail inside little Red.
Glad you were able to pull some nice data out of the weekend. All the bugs ironed out of the new imaging setup?
Mostly...there are a lot of different bits and pieces, sometimes thay all play nicely and sometimes they don't, but apart from one hiccup on Saturday night it all went well.
