NGC1365 Fornax

SPX350 F4.5, ATK-16HR, Astrodon filters.

LRGB
L=2.5hrs 5min subs.
R=9x5m.
BG=6x5m.

Beautiful big barred spiral in Fornax group with perfect symmetry with blue arms. One of the nicest galaxies around.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful work, John.

I'd love a long focal length system to tackle this one, one day.

Cheers, for the inspiration.

Astronomical John, Really dig the scale you have on this, lots of faint extensions along with a few distant galaxy's in the back ground, well captured !

Ah huh! you have discovered our southern gem of a galaxy 1365.

My favourite galaxy!

A worthy effort indeed

The only thing I would perhaps tweak is the cyan in the arms and the magenta in the bar

Mike

Thanks for the comments everyone, this is an amazing galaxy and nice and big. The image does have some noise in the galaxy and probably needs a bit of tweeking but I am pleased to have got this one as it sits right next to Fornax A.

I have had a good Winter and have enjoyed Sculpture and Fornax imaging no end as well as Sag nebula and clusters.

John.
