Dancing rainbow on a maksutov

Hey everyone,
Just got my first scope, a used 6" mak-cas. Managed to see Jupiter and its moons which was pretty awesome, though wife said that is was just a circle... At least my son thought that it was the moon.

Anyways when I point it at a star I see rings of rainbow. When I focus it to a point or as close as I can get it to rings disappears but can still see the red, blue and green....

Dose this spell bad news?

I know there is chromatic abberation, but what is normal?

Thanks in advance.

Btw - pretty cool community here on ice in space.

OOPs NEPO , sorry to be the bearer of bad news , but Mak's dont usually suffer from CA , so it sounds like a collumation issue , what brand is it ,as some are easily colluminated , and some are not .
also what eyepieces and diagonal are you using , if its a prisim type it may be out of whack , and what you are seeing might be in them? .
Hope so mate , let us know .
Brian
