My name is Funsho Babatunde, I work in the Accounts and Audit
Dept. Cbn ,in the course of our General Auditing and Account revision
of the last quarter of the year 2011,we discovered that the Bank
Accounts belonging to some Benefactors have been changed on the basis
that the owners have died some time last year or have given out an
authorization note of change of data. (DEED OF ASSIGNMENT)

After the investigations, however, it was revealed that there are
Foreigners who are collaborating with Retired Staffs to make these
changes illegally without the knowledge of the Bonafide Benefactors
and one traced to your own change is this Mr.Howard Hays who said you
are dead, hence they have forwarded some documents of funeral service
held for you so as to divert your fund. They have also forwarded the
below bank account as the new account that will receive the approved
gazetted amount of $18,500.000.00.

Recognisation of scam email can be easily effected.
Over capitalization and and poor puctuation are common. Grammatical mistakes are frequent. The promise of huge sums of money and/or easy money.

Lately scammers have been switching to love/dating scams. Statistics from newspapers and "60 Minutes" indicate a ten fold increase.
Scammers are finding the modality much easier. Lonely people are often so much more vulnerable and are softer targets.
Best is to not reply. Scammers send out bulk mails to any email address they can find. So usually if you receive scam mail you have not really been singled out. Hundreds of others got the same.

Well, it may seem that way Ric. But they WILL get replies, possibly not from dead folk, granted. But that being the case, they are certainly a good deal brighter than the people (yes - including Aussies) that you see on 60 Minutes or A Current Affair from time to time, bleating about how... "these greedy,horrible guys have taken all my money".

Bright? - possibly not. But bright enough to keep on getting money out of us really clever people over here!

They didn't seem to accept that me ignoring yesterday's email was enough of a hint that I want them to believe I'm dead (or not interested), so they sent another one this morning.

Tell them you're now a Zombie, they are not very keen on the undead ...
Use the mail address of some fictitious Cemetary, plot XXX Row NNN, delivery only after dark ...

Stay away from sunlight and check the palms of your hands often ....
