Cambroon Saturday 29/10/11

All anyone up for this coming Saturday for an Astro Night
The Bridge is now open so anyone coming from Kenilworth or Even Maleny way is now able to get across the river easily
See sticky at top of this forum for details as to how to get here if not been here before PM me or phone for any other details.
I hope we can get some good weather, and you never know you may even get a view or an image of Greg Bock's Supernova

I hope to see you here
Cheers

Hi Ron,

Count me in if the weather behaves.

Its been so long, I hope I remember which end of the scope points up?

I'll just keep it simple and bring the dob, no power no problems. May have to clean and colimate the mirror.

See you saturday hopefully.

Dennis.

I'll bump it again Ron by saying that the weather both sucks and blows. What is it with new moon and cloud, are they somehow linked??? I might get in to meteorology so I can work out the relationship.

Cheers, Dennis.

Hi Ron, It was good to finally meet up with you on Thursday, sorry I did not make it on Saturday for the Astro Night, but I managed to get home in time to quickly set up the scope in the back yard, it was a good night for Astro. As soon as I was set up I set the scope to goto IC4901, it appeared exactly at the centre of view and SN2011gv was relatively easy to find even PGC 63808 was in the field of view but very faint.
Great views of NGC 253 lots of detail, 47 tuc bright as usual, Tarantula Neb had great detail and Jupiter was breathtaking, watched the spot transit for a few minutes. All in all a good night, Lots of favorites observed and a Supernova, hope you had a good night as well.

Wayne.

Geoff I have given up with it as it chews so much bandwidth,25mb a month or more
and the weather station just keeps giving me the no signal message
So all it is now is a flag pole and an orniment
