Mangrove Mountain EOI

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone was planning to go to the Mangrove Mountain site (aka The Pony Club) this Saturday?

I know IISAC is just next Thursday, but there are quite a few locals not going to IISAC it seems, and it could also serve to try out new gismoss etc. before the main event.

The nights have looked nice of late, and if this continues into Saturday, I may be persuaded into going up this weekend. If anyone else wants to.

Moonrise probably won't be until about 3am I suspect, so there is possibility of some nice dark sky. Although I have not checked any Long Range forcasts yet.

Just a thought

I've considered it, but getting a pass out might be difficult.

Would be good to make sure all the gear is working and the weather has been nice the last night or two (and tonight looks good).

Had my "fix" tonight under Sydney's bright skies. But caught up with old favourites, however faint they were. And was struggling all night with a primary mirror that stayed a stubborn 3 deg above ambient as the temperature fell.

So no Pony Club for me tomorrow night, sorry.

Now I have to start thinking about what to bring to IISAC 11.

not looking too good right now.
For tonight or next week?

Seems only clear viewing will be tomorrow - Sunday night/Monday morning.
Might try to get up to the Pony Club then.
Anyone else interested?
