Canon control with a Mac

Anybody know if there is similar programmes to BackyardEOS or APT that works with OS X on a mac (without running parallels etc)?
Something that can do live view focusing etc?

The Canon EOS utility does everything. It's called remote shooting and is very stable and easy to use.

If you have a non-EOS Canon (e.g. IXUS) then there is a variant called Canon utility. It should have come on the CD with your camera.

I use EOS utility on my mac with no problems. It works very well for imaging runs.

canon on macs

thanks dudes, after posting that message I realised I had the cd of utility (canon) and tried it out. Works well. My feeling before was for some nice software like APT that interacts with guiding as well, but hey! you can't have everything
Thanks for the reminder anyway.

I see you already have DFK cameras... but in cases you were interested, I recently discovered EOS Camera Movie Record that lets you record the LiveView display (including at 5x - which is like 100% crop mode) into a movie file. Very useful for me since my camera (5DmkII) can't record in movie crop mode.
