Hi Ken,
Another AP newbie here.
Your M8 looks great.
I've finally started to take some pics with the same setup as yours.
I think I asked you about your 600D well now I have one too.
Also have an 8" Newt and EQ6 so it should be fun comparing results.
Was this just lights or darks and flats stacked as well.

Cheers,
Ken.

Hi Ken, I saw your great shot of M8 as well and yes it will be great to compare!
I'm only a newb myself with imaging and still very much learning the basics but with us having the same gear we certainly can help each other out with what we learn.

I remember us talking about the 600d and it a good bit of gear, I'm thiknig of getting the 60D later on with some good lenses for general photography as I like to dabble in that as well.

Having only just installed the eqmod software on one of my laptops I'm still to rig up my guide rig, job for this weekend for sure.

No calibration data for the shot I took of M8, was going to but with just a short exposure I hadn't planned on actually using the data. When looking at the shots afterwords I was surprised how good they turned out with no form of dark subtraction at all, not even the camera and in light polluted suburbia.

I'm itching for the weather and moon to get lost so I can finally get a proper chunk of photons with this rig.

Thanks Ken and yes it will be fun and helpful to compare results along with Peter.M who has similar gear too.
I've already been down the photography route.Don't worry it's just another way to stay poor.
Like you I'm about to play with guiding..Oh Joy...more frustration ahead I'm sure.
I've even taken 2 weeks hols from next Monday so the weather better behave for me.
Cheers,
Ken.

Very good Ken. There's also some nice colour in there too. Go the longer subs and we look forward to seeing your results.

Ken, impressive shot! Did you use the MPCC? Your stars look really good over most of the frame. That Canon 600D looks to be a winner of a camera. I take it that it hasn't been modified?

Cheers,
Cam

Yep the MPCC was on for sure a must have bit of kit with newts. The 600D is a nice camera especially with the rotational screen and yes it's not modded....yet
