Jupiter 11th Oct / Uranus 12th Oct

SPX350, F30.6+F9.1 with 2xPowermate, Flea3, Astrodon filters and IR742nm.

Jupiter 11th-1422hrs UT. Alt49deg.
Uranus 12th-1135hrs UT. Alt59deg.

First attempt at Jupiter in avg seeing 6/10 with scudding cloud that would not let up eventually filling the whole sky. Had trouble with my Unibrain firecard which will not work now so used a cheap $15 6pin card which seemed to work better than the Unibrain did originally.

Next day on the 12th a full moon so tried Uranus moons at F9 with Firecapture stack frame option for boosted exposure at 2sec to see if I could get Miranda but full moon made it difficult so may be possible when moon has gone.

Tried Regx6 with Jupiter as it seemed to do a better job than Regx5, tried the linked wavelets, all processed very quickly.

Thanks, John.

Nice work John. Heaps of detail and probably the best from Oz.

Nice to see you back John! Shame about the seeing, still some good detail though.

Nice one John, it looks like it could withstand a little more sharpening.

Nice job!

I was looking at Jupiter at the time of your shot - excellent detail for what the sky was offiering John. My image was a blurry mess.

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks for the comments, I squeezed a bit more out of the data using R+IR as a combined luminance with IRGB to give more pole detail with some sharpening.

IR+R/IRGB.

John.

Wow, I'm also very happy to see you back with your splendid planetary images. I like these Jupiter and also Uranus that great and very good result with the moon of Uranus.
Congratulation John.
