How Much can I get for a Meade 8" LX200R

I have a Meade 8" LX200R with the mount NOT WORKING, I just would like to know how much I can get for it. If I get the mount fixed, how much can I get for the telescope then?

I will also include a 26mm Meade eyepiece, stand and external battery supply for the mount.

Ben

I suggest you have a look in the Classifieds forums (including archives = Sold items). Then you can, perhaps, get an idea how much to ask.

I have had a look, there are no Meade 8" for sale or in the archives.

So is there anyone which can tell me a price for an 2008 model.

It's hard to say without recent sales to use as a guide, but to pull a figure out of the air I'd guess a $1000 for the ota or $2000 for a whole working scope.

People tend to upgrade from the 8" to larger scopes so demand for the 8" isn't as great, and the fork mount Meade's seem to devalue quickly once they leave the shop. I bought a new 8"LX90 for $3800 and sold it about 6 years later for about $1250 - currency changes worked against me at the time but you're in a similar situation now.
