interesting lunar region Oct7

Hi.
This is an interesting region with the striking double walled crater Hesiodus A (upper right), the lava filled Pitatus (centre right) and the bowl shaped Cichus (top left), complete with some structure on its floor (maybe some of it from the more recent impact on its rim?). A ray pattern and possible debris from the Cichus region can just be seen on the flat floor of the nearby Weiss remnant (to the right of Cichus).
The large, crumbling and ancient Wurzelbauer can just be made out at lower centre, with a dual level shattered floor (possibly two eroded craters here?). Many of the features in this region have enhanced albedo and damage due to rays of material thrown up by the Tycho impact (out of the field to the bottom). Wurzelbauer is also accompanied by an eroded chain of smaller impact craters heading up towards Cichus.
Thanks for looking. Regards Ray

Very nice image Ray. I love this region of the moon with so much different detail to observe. Your write-up was great reading, adding to the image also.

Thanks Rolf. It was enjoyable to image this region and then try to find out how some of it might have been formed. The LROC browser that you posted a link to has been a really useful aid in that activity.
