Hi Richard,
I'm in the market for my first scope. What do you think of this as a first scope. Also I wouldn't be able to mount this on an eq mount would I?
Would be a good first telescope. With 4 inches of aperture it is good for the moon, planets, double stars and brighter deep sky objects. You could mount it on an eq mount. The wingnut comes off and you would have to make an adaptor to attach the telescope to your eq mount. I have a spare 25mm Plossl to go with it. All my stuff comes with a money back guarantee.
It has a red dot finder, so you need to have some knowledge of the sky to use it. I use it mainly for the moon and planets and double stars. Being a table top scope it can be awkward with objects at very high altitude.
