TEC110FL Test images with DSLR

I took some test images using a Canon 40D and the TEC110FL with its
DSLR adapter.

It makes a hot long distance "lens".

Very sharp and the colour looks great, Greg!

Did you see the recent test shots of an AP130 vs Canon 800m lens? I think the link I saw was on the Astro-Physics User Group on Yahoo. The scope clearly trounced the more expensive lens, at least at infinity focus

Cheers,
Rick.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for that. Yes I did see that AP130 comparison with the Canon Lens. It was a big difference. Then again that Canon lens has about 15 elements so it really doesn't stand a chance. I suppose rapid autofocus though would be handy instead of moving the AP's focuser!

Definitely designed with different requirements in mind, but it was interesting to see how even a very expensive lens doesn't compete with a high quality scope for astro imaging.
