Mars 10/09/2011

This is first attempt at Mars.It was very tough to image. It was bouncing around the screen and coming in and out of focus.
Shot through c11 at f25 with DMK 21 618 camera and astronomik filters.
Final image enlarged 3x and color balanced in photoshop

Well done Carl capturing this. Despite your tribulations, there are distinct features which I haven't managed to get yet.

Darrin...

Thanks Darrin,
Mars is really hard.It was only at about 45 degrees elevation.Hopefully as the fall progresses I can get it higher up in the sky so I dont have some much atmospheric disturbance. It is also really hard to figure out exposure.I think I overexposed it, but I worry if I underexpose I wont get any detail at all.
