Strange Winter Sky

Hi Everyone,
With the lack of good nights for astrophotography here in Melbourne recently I thought I would post one of my terrestrial shots. This was taken on 5/8/2011 at about 5:45pm from my backyard. It was a very unusual winter sky. It almost resembled a summer "height of bushfire season" type of sky. Captured with a Canon 550d using the 50mm F1.8II.
Thanks for looking,
Comments and critique always welcome.
Lucas

As a landscape photographer, that is the type of sky I dream about.

Hot. Damn.

I recently moved house, and have been lucky enough to catch some amazing sunsets from my balcony - and you can see the amazing colours from most of my living areas with strategically placed windows. There was a run of great pinky orange sunsets about a month and a half ago, they were breathtaking

A wonderful and spectacular capture Lucas.

You could be forgiven for thinking there was a raging bushfire coming your way.

Thanks Mishku, Baz and Ric. It's just one of those moments where you look outside and say to yourself "I've gotta get my camera"
