I successfully built a radio Jove by soldering. And I've tested it, without
and antennae. And it whistles at different settings.
I'm really into regular astronomy with my optical telescopes and astrophotography.
So I might want to try this radio someday. But I'd need to build too the di-pole antennae for it. And I don't know that my parents where I live want that. So I might want to sell this radio. It also has a CD-ROM for it.
I guess I've heard that it translated the radio (Jupiter) signal into audio forms. Then you hook it up to a laptop and analize the wave form.
Mine was more a setup test as i only just built it but worked. I don't have a signal generator so had to rely on tuning by radio station. All I can say is easier to setup with a signal generator. As I went to a dark site alone I decided not to hang around.
The receiver worked though and is very strong. Managed to pick up China International Radio at 15MHz so couldn't receive any other English program to determine the other frequency. Jupiter wasn't up at the time when I left.
