Brisbane Festival "City of Lights" (or light pollution...!)

Hi all,

Here are a few images of the light show that's occuring every evening during the Brisbane Festival. I think that the smoke haze which has been hanging over Brisbane for the last 2 days worked in my favour, as the light beams were extra bright. For those in Brisbane who haven't seen this show, it's worth a look. I think it finishes this Saturday evening.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice! Been wondering how it'd look with all the smoke/haze around at the moment. Reckon it looks great here, not too good for astro-imaging despite the clear skies, though

Thanks Troy. Yes, the only astro imaging worth doing at the moment is sunsets!

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen

Wow – those are spectacular photos. I really like #2 in particular – the composition, colours, reflections and geometry really come together and make this one pop.

Thanks for sharing the spectacle, even though we are astronomers and should not encourage such flagrant abuse of our night skies!

Cheers

Dennis

Beautiful... the smoke haze really does make those light beams pop (on top of your camera work)!

Thanks Liz!
I tried some more shots last night (as this show is on 2 or 3 times each evening), but without the smoke the light beams did not show up nearly as well.

Cheers,
Stephen
