EM200 PAS Brightness

I have recently purchased a Taki EM200. I have found that despite turning the brightness on the PAS to minimum I still have an overpowering red disk in the PAS. When I turn off the mount and therefore the PAS light I can see the stars so there is no obstruction in the PAS. Can anyone advise a solution please

Hi John

I have a Tak EM200 Temma II and when I look down the PAS from the hole in the DEC shaft, I see a red LED “floating” on a pair of wires. I have inserted the rounded end of a wooden spoon down the opening and gently pushed the LED assembly slightly to one side, so it still provides sufficient illumination in the suburban Brisbane skies.

Cheers

Dennis
