USB TV tuners

I have probably put this in the wrong place so move if needed.

As anyone used a USB TV tuner on their laptops? Are they any good? Which brand?

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I have two of these they are VUE Dual DVB-T USB 2 and they are great I use one on my Acer Aspire One netbook and it works great no problems with lag and all channels work great HD as well. And I got them from WOW Sight and Sound on special 2 for $90 but I think I was lucky or cheeky because they were supposed to be that much each

I bought a $18 tuner from one of the cheap warehouses. Worked a treat, in the city, where there was a strong signal to be had.
But here in down town Kilcoy, it's useless.

Mine only works with an external antenna, and we live in a Sydney suburb.

With mine I can get all channels with the small antenna as well in Mackay maybe it depends on the price of it

I was thinking about getting one and using it with an external antenna for when we go to Yarraman. Not sure what the signal strength of the transmissions from the tv stations are. I suppose it's a matter of "suck it and see"
