Riverfire Fireworks, Brisbane

Here are a few photos of the firework display as part of the Riverfire festival in Brisbane. We had a great vantage point from the upper levels of a high-rise apartment block.

Very nice images! I'm hoping to grab some shots of the big fireworks when the RWC opens here in Auckland on Friday. Looks like it will be clear

Exposure was 5 secs @ f22
They had a slight gamma and contrast adjustment to make the background a little darker in an effort to try and hide the firework smoke.

If I was taking them again I would probably try for a shorter 3 sec exposure with a slightly wider aperture, because most of the photos had too many fireworks going off resulting in an mess of overlapping explosions.

re fire works

Look great-well done, useful settings to know, what iso?

Looking at these, leads me to think you took the images from
somewhere around "Stephan's" penthouse at South Bank.

My son was there in the afternoon as well as the evening
and manage some interesting images of the F 18 and hawk
helicopters. The noise from the F 18 was the nest part he said.

Looks like all saw great stuff!

ISO was 1600.

I don't know where "Stephan's" penthouse is exactly, but these were taken from a high-rise on Vulture street between South Bank and the 'Gabba'.

Yep-that's the location-Steve Ackarie-aka 'Stephen'-the hairdresser chain.(not sure if the spellings right)

Think he owns the old 'light strobe' from 'expo'88.
