Got to work this morning and saw a number of people crowded near the window. This is what they saw, a real Eureka moment (and I didn't run down the street naked ).
All done on a rusty old Nokia, no Titan mount, autoguiding, stacking or fancy PS work

Far out, what's causing that? Is there some gas, dust or fog near the building what the reflection is lighting up? Glad you grabbed the shot.
Was a bit cold this morning and there was some fog/haze around the CBD. The gold panels face north/north west, so the incident eastern sunlight reflected off their surfaces and through the fog and haze.
But alas, no "purple haze" a la Hendrix!
