Ngc300 work in progress

Hi all,
thought I'd share with you an image I'm working on.
I already have 7.45 hrs worth but need more colour and will add some Ha as this galaxy has some lovely knots worth picking up.
While a large spiral, it has a very low surface brightness and is hard to really begin to resolve the inner most stars... at present look like noise.
I have done nothing to this image at all other than layer in the full lum with a Lrgb composite and add some more saturation.

10" Newtonian working @ F4.6
SX H16
L= 301min R=49 G=49 B=49 (7min subs)

I hope I can get some more time to add more colour... in retrospect should have binned.
This is a really lovely target.
Here's a direct link if you'd like a look

All the best

Thats nice already Rich, look forward to the end result. I'm also currently imaging this target (only lum subs 10x10 so far) so I'll be watching this evolve with added interest! A beautiful field, all the background stuff is just as appealing as the main galaxy I reckon. Looking good

This looks excellent, got some data for this myself but decided to bin the RGB and Ha as it is so faint but you have pulled out the detail very well with lots of starburst.

John.

Thanks Darrell, Louie and John!

Keep at it Darrell, it is a hard one to really get those finer stars within the arms resolved... I think your 10min subs would definitely help.. good hunting!

Yes john, 2xs binning would be the best way to go for Ha and RGB. I was originally going to do this for my first lot of colour, don't ask me why I didn't..

Any way, wasn't expecting to be able to get out tonight but chance has it, I might just be lucky.. after the moon drops down.
So hopefully have an update soon on this image.

Thanks again and all the best guys for your gathering on this one!
Be good to see the varying images.

Rich

Hi Paul,
thanks mate!
Not an easy one to process the colour, but I put it down to its faintness and me not binning the first lot rgb.

Weather didn't play ball last night so will have to wait for any additions to it.

All the best
Rich

Cheers JJ!!
Still need more time.. and looks like I'll have to wait for more colour, but I can at least get some Ha on it for the nice little HII knots that are screaming to be shown

Thanks again folks
All the best
Rich
