M16 attempt

An attempt to get some imaging in between rain and studies.

I think it will be time when money comes in to get a CCD mono unit.

Camera - 450D un-modded
Scope - TS 80mm
Mount - EQ5 having guiding issues
60 Seconds, 800 ISO

My image software is starting to limit my images now so I need to look into another way to show hi rez. In the meantime below is a low rez.

Nice shot Malcolm,

Get a ccd camera. You will be amazed at the difference, even if you get an OSC rather than a monochrome.

I upgraded from a Canon DSLR to a OSC at the beginning of the year and I haven't looked back.

Thanks.

Ross.

Thanks Louise and Ross, Definitely my passion is AP so will look at upgrading the moment I can get to it. I also have a passion for Radio Astronomy as well.

Unfortunately my studies make it difficult to AP now but I have allocated time with ASWA and Friday nights when the skies clear. All other nights are no go. Bring on the holiday's

Thanks Marc, was the first time I used my light-box to get flats on this image, the gradient is a lot smoother than previous attempts.

It may be the combination of the shorter FL with the 450D - Your field is amazing, I expect a lot more subs would give you a lovely pic
