Sombrero Galaxy
SPX350 F4.53, ATK-16HR, Astrodon filters.
LRGB
L=22x5m
GB=6x5m
R=10x5m
This was taken back in June and looking at StrongmanMike's image was amazed at the number of globular clusters surrounding this galaxy down to 21st mag he found with his SF152 which I got too. This has to be the best dust lane galaxy around.
Thanks for looking.

I agree John, it really is the UFO of galaxies
Great result mate, some nice details showing there and yep we amateurs can get down to original Palomar sky survey limiting magnitudes these days..who would'a thought

Superb resolution John. Even in the faint fuzzies around the field.

You got a lot of detail there John which is very hard to obtain. Well done.

Certainly managed to bring out the detail in the dust lanes, especially like the leading edge with it rising above the galactic plane

Me too - I think there are plenty of Aussies taking note of what you and the SPX350 can do John

Very well done indeed John!
Some excellent detail across the dust lane/s.
Not always an easy target to do justice to....
This is a beaut!

Just awesome! You've made it look really natural and smooth while still bringing out lots of intricate details in that dust lane. You've also captured several faint background galaxies in addition to the globulars. Very cool!

This is pretty close to the best M104 I have seen. I think Pete's is just better, but this is very nice all the same. I really need to image this at some stage. A real joy to view this image.
