Very nice Paul, your starting the photon wars again, Scott will retaliate LOL. I cant believe the detail you got. Would longer over expose it or make it better?

Photon Wars? yes I know what you mean. :-)) I ordered the proper glass from Edmunds Optical this morning to replace the existing one in the camera.

Longer exposures did infact over expose the whole object. I think what would help is better seeing conditions and a dozen or more short exposures like the ones I did here to help get some more detail.

Geeday Striker,

10X : yes I know what you mean. The enlargment is 2X the actual pixel size, however where I have mislead you, is that I didn't say the widefield image is about a 4x reduction of the actual size.

regards, Paul

Great Hi res shot there Paul. That can be a hard object to image properly as it can easily be overexposed, but has been perfectly exposed there, showing the "eye" shape well.
