My new baby girl.

Strictly speaking, I'm not allowed pets in the house I'm renting.....but who could object to such a sweetie?
Her name is Rosie, and she's just 6 weeks old.
My boys dote on her already. She was hand raised, and is very gentle, she loves to smooch up and cuddle.

When I was at school I rescued two lab mice I named them Pinky and Fonzie we made a cage from one of those kitchen cupboards that have the sliding glass doors and two levels. We drilled a hole in the shelf and put a ladder from the bottem to the top and we had many little pink babies while we had them we supplied the neighbours with mice for pets. I remember they loved wiskette cat food.

She's been snuggled up to Jack for ages now.
I can't believe how affectionate a little rattie can be.
They look at you and you can see the trust in their eyes.

I've had a couple of pet rats much to my friends horror. I loved them and was quite upset when they died.

So smart and when disciplined with a little flick on the nose, they are very fast learners!

Yours is gorgeous mate!

Baz.

What a cool little fellow, they make wonderful pets.

They too often get a bad rap because of their drain dwelling relatives.

So sweet, if you walk by her cage, she runs over, stands up and hangs on the the bars, pleading with her eyes, "Please pick me up and play with me"

sorry, I had to post this.....

I was thinking of buying her a Rat Ball. That way she can free range.

Just be sure you don't end up 'free-ranging' yourself jjj once the landlord finds out you've got a wat in the house. Other than that, very cute

That is good advice jjj. Years ago, I helped a friend shift house. Their oldest son had a pet rat that he kept in his bedroom. The bedroom stunk of rat. Your landlord will smell it for sure during inspection.

Also, don't have the cat and the rat in the same room.
