Noisy M20

I know its not a great image (noisy) but this image of M20 taken with a ST4000/AO8 combo attached my R/C does resolve the central group of stars really well. It is a combination of 4 * 20 minute colour subs

Substitute camera

I got really excited by the tidal stream project Ken Crawford spoke about at the AAIS. I've been wanting to do something systematic (read scientific) for a long time, so I've splashed out on a FLI16803 of course I cant afford to buy anything else for the next 5 years, but what the heck.

The ST4000 is a terrific camera and I still have one attached to my TSA120. This camera/ao unit came off my RCOS.

Thats a fine result for the subs used, significant detail starting to show and colours are delightful.

John.

That's a great shot. You got great tight stars, very nice stars in fact.

I have not seen the 2 bright and one small star in the centre resolved like that before. Its a bit like the M42 core.

What you may be thinking when you view the image is the framing is a bit off with too much empty space above it.

Perhaps try some cropping of the image to see if it can be framed differently and it would probably make all the difference. Colour, detail and stars are all spot on.

You do have that RCOS singing.

Greg.
