m20 up close...

Here is an LRGB shot of m20 taken over three sessions around new moon from my back yard. Processing is a bit raw but I am pleased with it so far. My PA was off a little for the earlier sessions too.

ED127, 45*300s mins L, 45*150s each of RGB binned 2x2.

Also attached is a hubble palette eagle and an LRGB Barnards galaxy taken over the same period.

Camera is an Opticstar 145m, the sensor is a little small but the sensitivity is good.

Thats great detail for a ED127, HII loops in Barnard's galaxy are quite strong.

John.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Barnard's is faint and from my location I am shooting into light polluted skies so I got some pretty horrid gradients that stopped me from pushing for more details and threw the colour balance off.

I think I am getting to grips with the ED127 now and nb images are improving with the longer subs (10-15 mins).

Processing still gives me challenges. Just getting to grips with zones but still not handling the stars properly yet....
