Saturn montage showing rotation of the great White Spot" (Storm)

Hi

Here is the series of Saturn’s from 9:00pm to almost 11:00pm showing the rotation of the “White Spot”. Colour variation between individual images is probably due to thin clouds rolling in for segments of some of the avi’s.

I'm afraid the storm is not very distinct on some of the early images in the sequence.

Another work of art, all those Saturns all with CD in full circle with sharp banding and that distinct white spot storm sporting lightning on a scale 1000x anything on earth... amazing and well done Dennis!

Excellent Dennis. I know you were asked this the other week about your Jupiter collection, but I'll ask again. How about putting these shots through a gif animator? An animated gif of both Jupiter and Saturn showing it's own spot would great.

Here are the diffraction patterns for the C9.25 for this imaging session. Outside of focus on the left, inside of focus on the right.

The mirror doesn't appear to look "textbook" but it does seem to perform very well during the times of good seing.

Looking at those patterns Dennis it seems that you've still got a few tube currents in there. Just think of what you might have achieved if your mirror was at ambient. Someone's gotta find a "bird" solution for SCTs

Ahh, that's what they are. The diffraction patterns were captured around 8:15pm - I wish I had taken another set around midnight to see the difference. A future project perhaps?

Matt mentioned you had a canon 350d dennis,

how do you get the image scale for a wide aspect camera, awesome.

i suggest however you purchase a toucam, they are really cool and you can take pictures of stuff!
