Enterprise: the first orbiter built, will move from the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum in Virginia to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York.
Discovery: The Udvar-Hazy Centre, Dulles International Airport.
Endeavour: California Science Centre in Los Angeles.
Atlantis: Will remain on display at the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor’s Complex in Florida.
So, if you ever visit KSC in the future, you can see Atlantis in the flesh, and recall the Thursday evening in July 2011 you watch it land for the last time, live
You know the saddest sound I heard minutes ago was the sound of Atlantis' APU's shutting down. A descending whine fading away, and the "whoosh whoosh" sould of the APU exhaust stopping. It is as if the shuttle "died" In a way it has, well, the shuttle program, and US manned space flight has indeed died.
With the US in horrible financial shape I fear US manned spaceflight may never return

There will undoubtedly be a few lucky IceInspace readers that will get to gaze upon
one or more of them in the future once on display at their respective resting places.

Yes, I was listening to that also, and felt the same, Scott.
Atlantis does not have to be moved too far and will be on exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center.

It has to be there before the end of October or I'll miss it. My KSC tour is booked for October 28.
