Magnetic Declination between 1835-1840

Hi all,

Is there any way of finding out what the Magnetic declination of say South Australia would have been between 1835 and 1840?

And yes I do mean in the 1800's.

I think from memory MD wasn't calculated until 1839... But would it be possible to find out what it would have been in SA?

You could also try the RAN hydrography branch if it still exists. I had close contact with them 40 years ago and they did have all sorts of info for charting the Australian waters, etc
