M17 LRGB with Ha added at last.

I managed a couple of hours of Ha to add to my M17 image from last week.
It was freezing ouside tonight. I had to crack the ice around the bottom of the observatory shutter before I could shut up shop.

I blended the Ha with the red, blue and Lum channels to give me this image. I am not sure how happy I am with this rendition and will probably redo it in the morning with some fresh eyes but here it is so far.

Doug it already looks really good and with some more processing it will be a ripper that will be showing the inside of the swan with lots of detail.
Where did you get the clear sky from???

Nice sharp rendition Doug. I like the definition of the central areas of the nebula and the dust lanes look nice and inky. One thing I don't like is the orange giant off the far right has a blue ring inside of its orange halo. Crop that out and the image looks excellent. Well done.

Thanks Paul, Getting some star colour was probably the hardest part of the processing of this one, particularly after adding the Ha which as usual adds some wierd halos around the stars and I mean all of them.
I was happy with the blend overall and the way it progressed to this final stage.
