Rosette Repro

Hi all,

Been really busy lately but finally spent some time processing with some friends in Coolabine.

Did a repro of a shot that I did way back in Feb. I've attached the original and then tonights effort.

Used a lot of new (for me) techniques and my head is swimming with all the details - loved every bit of it. Hope I can remember what I did when I wake up tomorrow (....that doesn't sound right).

Still need to round some of those stars I think, any comments for the image so far would be appreciated. I'm fairly happy with it so far but I might be completely wrong.

Adam

The first one is the one on the left? I think the second shot dynamic range is not as good as the first shot. Very cool shot btw.

Hi Marc,
The repro is the second one, I was concentrating on the details and I toned down the red. I sort of felt that the first one was as if it had too much makeup on.

Hi Adam,

Great photo. The original is also pretty good.

I think I am at the same stage as you where I am trying all these new Photoshop processing techniques. I am amazed at the improvements I can make to an image.

Good luck.

Ross.

Thanks Ross,

I spent a bit of time getting the data, just comes down to the processing now.

Playing with all sorts of masks, filters, blending modes and different colour modes that are new to me, it certainly brings up the detail better and if I can remember what I did I think that ultimately it will be easier.

I still like the first one, it certainly looks good as a background on my computer. Just trying to be a bit more subtle.

Adam
