Another couple of widefields from last week

Here's another couple of widefields taken over two nights around Ara and Sagittarius. Same set-up. QHY8 + Pentax SMC - M200mm at full aperture. Bit over 3h in 5min subs.

Lot of moon gradient on the last two shots which I didn't bother processing as I'll add more data later on and reject it.

There's a bigger one here for the first shot. Looking forward to next saturday and following new moon week-end to do some colour for a change.

Its nice to see the long tonal range from B&W images - especially of areas of sky I can barely see!

Thanks Francis. You definitely need to come and see the Milkyway up ahead here in winter. Nothing like the northern hemisphere part. It's hugely wide and glowing. Quite a sight.

Great Ha shots Marc. 6188 and M8 are particularly interesting.

What scope is this?

Greg.

Hi Marc,

Great photos.

Sharp, detailed and nice tones all the way to the corners.

Thanks.

Ross.

Thanks mate. No it's offset a bit because I took subs on two different nights and didn't end up exactly in the same spot.
