Eclipse from down Geelong way

Hi all,

As said before some great shots from all over, although we started off 0k unfortunately the haze and clouds beat us.
Anyway here is a composite of a series of the moon rise on the 15th just to test an interval setting on the camera combined with the event shots as I had opted not to do the interval method because after being up in plenty of time I could see the clouds approaching quite quickly so I figured I'd just get what I could.
This is what I made of it and as you will see the haze didn't do me any favours but happy with what I got and just to be there to see it.

The interval series shot with Pentax K5 and 135mm f2.8 @f5 1/500th 100 iso
The event series again Pentax K5 and 300mm f4 @f4.5 and iso 100 to 3200 and down to a 1/3rd sec as I wasn't drive mounted just on the tripod.

Looking forward to Decembers episode.

Ken.

Luna Eclipse from Turkey 2011

Hey Ken, great shots!!

Hi all. I was and am holidaying in Adana, Turkey during the Luna Eclipse and it was perfect viewing. Having just arrived back from a concert with the in-laws I picked up the eclipse just as the moon was about to have it's lights turned out! :-) I snapped these shots balancing on the balcony ledge holding my breath to keep the digital camera still turning blue! lol (Panasonic DMC-FZ40) on full zoom can be tricky.

iT WAS 11:30pm at night here and clear skys. Unfortunately had lots of city lights polution but not bad considering.

Cheers
