Thumbs up Moon Last Night

Hello, took this picture of the moon last night by holding my digicam up to the eyepiece of my Dob. Thought it turned out o so I had to post it.

Image isn't working, try again later.

Hi CJ - rotten conditions here last night so took shots of the moon too. 20mm Eyepiece and a little digital camera hand held. You can see the achromat effect - looking to get a fringe killer at some stage. God luck with the attachment - would like to compare with another low techy picture grabber.

PS BTW - was surprised at having to set white balance for tungsten - no moon filter in use. Is that an indication of "thick" skies?

How did you post the picture? Whenever I try it does not accept it. Do I need a special plugin to be able to post pictures on this forum, I have not done it before but it is not working now.

Just went to advanced and clicked on manage attachments. (Has to be smaller than 150KB though). If you want to try another browser Opera is excellent and free to download. Google opera web browser. Good luck.

Thanks stinky, knew I was doing something wrong. I kept on clicking on the insert image button which does not work.

Nice one! No fringe Mr. Dobber. But what I would really like to know is how you 'arranged' to have a file size of 148.587KB? hehe...

Nice cj, very nice. I was out looking at the moon last night (kinda hard not to when its that bright ) and was amazed that I could still see Saturn so easily with my little refractor as the two were quite close together.

Getting the size is easy, open it in Photoshop and go "save for web". Adjust the slider left or right and you can watch the file size as you go.

The full size image is now the backdrop on my computer.

Thanks guys.
