First LRGB Leo Triplet- Marovian G2-8300

This is my first LRBG shot with the new CCD camera
4 X 5min each filter
W.O. FLT110 refactor
Captured in Nebulosity using Nebulosity Sequencer
Processed in Photoshop CS3

Happy with the first attempt, will add more data when the weather clears.

nice image - looks like you need to apply a flat or some thing - dark halos around the galaxies

I noticed that too. It looks like what happens when I use GradientXTerminator incorrectly. Other than that it is a nice image.

EDIT: I did a repo, I thing it looks better now? I had already applied flats and darks so I suspected it was something in my processing

That's a lovely shot!
I suspect maybe it's feathering causing the darker halos?

Thanks for the feedback, there are a few issues but I'm happy with it as a first shot.

I'm shooting that lovely Rho Oph region JJJ has so nicely captured. Guiding is a bit iffy...I'll see how it goes for the rest of the night.

Looks really good Geoff! Hard to tell with the small pics, but is there a touch of CA present around the brighter stars? Could be caused by not refocusing between R/G/B filters? Dunno..

Otherwise looks great.. would love to see some crops of the galaxies...

How do you find the Marovian G2 8300? I've not heard of anyone using one before now..

Very nice Geoff. Lots of detail in these little galaxies. Colour etc. also looks very good.

That's a great start Geoff to be able to get colour to come through in the galaxy core like that. I wonder if the lum would take a bit more stretching to bring some more life to it. It feels like there's a bit more to the data you have there.

Re the camera: I had a look at the other 8300 style cameras available and decided
A) Build quality is really good, IMO
B) It has a good cooling system, 2 stage
C) Internal filter wheel taking 1.25inch mounted or 31mm unmounted filters
D) Desiccant crystals are rechargeable
E) It was the right price for me

I'm a novice to CCD imaging so I wasn't sure what to expect, the camera has worked straight out of the box, which I love.

I hope to catch you both at the next 10CH night
