Massive Melbourne due alert for tonight

Just a heads up that it's dewed out after half an hour. I left the scope 20 minutes to cool down and I come back and I can't see a thing in either the finder or eyepiece. Furthermore there are now only 5 stars in the jewel box.

I notice however that Saturn performs rather well in spite of the due. I always used to look at Mars no matter how much due was on the scope and it was 'ok'.

This reinforces my conviction that early autumn is the best time for viewing. And maybe spring as well, summer.

So just to those out there, I share your pain. :ey epop::eyepo p:

My car was already starting to dew up in the station parking lot when I got off the train at 5.30pm today, had to use the wipers to get rid of it!

atm, anything metal or plastic out in the open is covered in water droplets
