Jupiter 12th Feb from tassie - quick processing

nice seeing again, so have tested 5fps in the following modes:
  1. colour raw
  2. normal 840k
  3. 900nc
  4. optimised raw
I also tested 5 gamma settings in colour raw mode at 5fps 1/33, gain 45%:
  1. 0
  2. 5
  3. 10
  4. 25
  5. 50
Then went back to colour raw and proceeded to keep taking avi as the seeing got better. i think this is the best avi, so i have done a quick registax, medium wavelets, quick play in astral image.

So much data to wadem thru and then the separate colour treatment thing

Hi David,

Don't you ever sleep? Many more of these great photos of Jupiter and you'll have enough for a feature length movie. Keep 'em coming...

Brian.

Dave it looks like your skills have progressed to the point where you are only limited by the equipment used. (Am I right?)

Looks great

thanks all,

Geoff, i am feeling very happy with level of operating the equipment. I think I will keep pushing hard into mays opposition and then look to the next level.

The next level will be installing the b/w chip into the toucam and getting 3x more sensitivity when in raw mode. But if i want colour images, then a colour filter wheel in in order, and if I am going to try and get enough images in 90 seconds but in three colours then I have to be ready to part with $2500 to do what bird does with his image runs??
