ISS/Shuttle over S.E QLD

The weather was not good this evening, clouds and showers about.I walked up to the top of the hill, and wondered why I was there,

Set up 50d and 70-200,my plan to zoom in tight on Orion or similar constellation and get a short sharp shot of pass over, but huge bank of cloud to west put paid to that,I saw ISS coming and go into clouds,I notice a clear patch of sky south of it,I thought the ISS might pop out from, and re framed at 70 mm and captured this image at AV 7.1 iso 250 47 sec exp,I was fairly surprised I got some sort image. Here is is hope its of interest.

Thanks for looking-Chris

Two "darkenings" in the trail of reflected light - catching the sun a little differently for a while? Thanks Chris.

That is due to Clouds,Thanks for your feed back Erick,Anthony, and David.

I am surprise that this turned out as well as it did,I framed up and basically changed settings just before I captured image,as the shuttle was going over head (in the cloud). It was a -2.4 mag

I think this is the last ever time I will see it,as HA say there are no more bright pass overs near S.E QLD for the next two days. Not sure how long STS134 is up for.

Cheers Chris

Well captured Chris! Shame there were clouds near Orion. But at least you had a gap - we had complete cloud cover and drizzzle for this pass.

I think this will be the last we see of this mission. There are no more ISS passes for the rest of May, and I think the shuttle is due to land overnight (our time) on the 1st of June, as it is on a 16 day mission.

Of course, the landings are often delayed a few days, so we may still get a pass of the shuttle in early June...

Cheers,
Stephen
