Dark scorpion in Sagittarius

Though the soup and clouds while i was busy studying for upcoming exams big bertha was trooping along sucking in photons.

I couldn't focus any better than a FWHM of 3.9 (i can normally reach about 1.8- 2) which is indicitive of the absolutely shotty seeing my guestimate would be somewhere about 5-6/10 the guide star was wobbling terribly.

All up i got 4.5hrs LRGB L at 15min ea, RGB at 10 min ea 90:60:60:60 bin 1x1
CCD stack, PSCS5 for the tarting up Maxim for the capture Normal 10"+EQ6+OAG+Sbig+qhy9

There are some warts so i will revisit this target on better weather!

Very very nice Brendan Looks like a scorpion as well. Some of the dark nebulas are very intracate and this one is again some thing different.

Thanks doug for that, you really should have a go at this area as there is a nice little Glob just off to one side and just up theres a lovely little PN thats pink and what not. It should fit in your FOV quite nicely!

yeah that one ... I was looking for something to image because the west/north and a little bit of south was cloudy, so i looked though the sky6 and came across it.

Mike Im really getting into these dark nebula, they are a bit tricky to take and some times you have to expose for a decent time just to bring them up so you can frame. But well worth it! Big newts do it well! you should have a go of this area there are alot of interesting objects really close.

Marc, JJJ and Chris. Yes it is a very interesting nebula, one thing im noticing is the difference you find even within dark nebula just how different they are. Like my shot over in Corona Australis to this. same type of nebula, totally different ball game!
