Channel 9 Weather man conjunction

This morning I went to Observatory Hill Park to capture the conjunction, and with all the media interest, and the Sydney Observatory morning brekky thing, there was a fair bit of activity about including some TV stations.

Channel 9 Weather Man, Steven Jacobs did a live weather cross at 6am so I captured him, and the conjunction

Mars was too faint at this stage to be seen or captured.

The second image is the conjunction, and the bridge, and the TV vans

At least the news vans didn't have to travel far to report on the news of the guy on top of the harbour bridge

I wonder if he was informing the viewers how rare an "astrological" event it is.

That's different Mike, but looks quite good actually, the one through the trees is quite appealing

Wow Mike, I think it's fantastic that you were able to capture an historic event while it's being broadcasted on the news!
That to me, would be quite special.

Oh, I can imagine the mumbo jumbo that's being bandied about in the news and the internet about the conjunction. With Leo in Virgo and the Milky Way being spilt by Aquarius and Gemini crying over it after Scorpio stinging them on the foot, everyone's day is going to be hunky dory...and they'll meet their love match at a tennis match, in 2012

Was this the Sydney Observatory? Sorry not from around there so don't know the area... I heard one lady travelled 5 hours, to goto the Observatory to see the conjunction, I wonder if she knows that she could have seen it anywhere with a clear view

I wonder if the Queensland UFO boys saw it on the TV and said... "Hey .... wait-a-minute.... maybe it *WAS* Venus...."

Yes, it was the Sydney Observatory.

Here's a couple of pics after it got light. The first one shows the observatory itself with someone taking pics up from the tower, and the second is the East edge where a bunch of people were setup with cameras, video cameras and telescopes.

The media were there too.
