Cover Versions

Instead of hijacking Suzy's thread, I thought we could share our favourite covers here.

I'll start off with Bob Downe's cover of "Stairway to Heaven"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQiGInrFWxI

now where's Rolf's version

This has to be one of the worst covers of all time in my books.

"Have a cigar" by Rosebud. This is a disco version of the Pink Floyd classic.

I'm sure this is the stuff prison riots are made of.

I have never heard the full song as it irritates me so much.

I have always liked the Yes cover of Simon and Garfunkle's America. There are a couple of different versions of it that they recorded basically similar to each other but not the same, and all very different in tone to the S&G original.

Well Bill Shatner did an horrendous job of Lucy in the Sky, but his Rocket Man is perhaps worse.

500 million% agree with you! But a whole lot rather than "a little". Great video as well!

Now, about Eddie Cochran, Brian Setzer (the face of Gretsch) did a pretty good cover of "Summertime Blues", with a hot middle 8

Johnny Cash's version of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails...very sad seeing and hearing him so frail and old in contrast with shots of him in his prime.
